Ugh, really disappointing/frustrating race. Pretty hot, similar to past years, not brutal but hotter than it's been lately. Hoped to run 5:50s and get top 10 (t-shirt). Went out in high 5:20s, wanted to go slower but first mile is downhill and I hung back in 18th off the top group. Felt pretty good and thought that I was settling in and was feeling ok. Made a pretty stupid move after the first mile, the group ahead of me was starting to string out and I picked off a few guys probably earlier than necessary to move into 11th. Then at 2 miles we hit the first hill (5:53) and I totally fell apart, felt totally dead. 6:34 3rd mile at which point I pretty much threw in the towel, felt terrible and was crawling along. Miles 4 and 5 were more of the same. Came through 5 miles slower than last year's finishing time. Pretty miserable all in all, similar to Williams last year. Still think I am in better shape than last year, just didn't have it today, hopefully will soon enough.

Looks/sounds like you were dehydrated. That much weight lost in a week isn't normal. Anyways, keep working hard. We dont train for the brew run! Plus, i think it is safe to say at the end of your first 3 90 mile weeks its ok to feel a little flat
