Interesting Saturday workout. Assigned 4X mile @ tempo pace, 90 seconds rest. Miles one and three were ran on the track; miles 2 and 4 were actually 6 minute runs at a pace that was supposed to feel similar around the baseball fields. Ran with Mike and Christian, with Pat, Warren, and Eric behind us. The first mile on the track felt very controlled and easy. On the first field segment, I think we were probably going to fast- on both field segments we got a little more than two big laps in. I think that both field segments were between 5:50 and 6:00. In any case, the second mile felt pretty easy. The third mile was actually somewhat tough, but we ran a good negative split to finish our fastest mile of they day. The fourth mile, on the field, was also pretty tough- but we ran a little slower than we had on mile #2, and I was able to run well, and really tried to push the last two minutes of the run. Afterwards, we did 4X200, with a half lap of walk/jog rest. My goal for these was to feel pretty relaxed and easy running about 35 second pace, which I accomplished. 10 minute cool down in the woods. Killer lifting/abs workout afterwards.
