Halloween Mile. Came in 3rd, behind Pablo and Eric. First fast race in quite a while. In my opinion, not a very good performance. The race didn't go as I'd planned- I had to lead the first 1000 meters or so before Pablo passed me. We got out way to fast in the first lap (68) and then came back in 83, so the pace was way screwy. When Pablo passed me, I wasn't able to give him a good fight after leading for 2 laps with Schissel stepping on me the entire way.
Conclusions:
-Although I'm definitely more fit than last year, I'm not as track ready. That will change soon enough.
-I really need to work on my finishing kick. Eric out-kicked me in the last 100. I've been passed at the end too many times.
-I need to run a smarter race. A 5:15 mile could have been accomplished by running 4 laps at 79 pace- way easier.
