Brown Invite at Goddard Park, RI. A fast course. Kind of a muddy day, but the course was still flat and pretty fast-supposedly 15-20 seconds faster than Franklin Park. Ran in the JV race. Our Varsity team won the Championship heat. Our JV team came in second by 1 point to a team from NJ. I got out right in the front of the race. Settled in in a pack behind about 7 runners. Came through the first mile in 5:20, felt pretty relaxed. At about the two mile mark I started trying to pick people off. In the last straight away I held off two kids who turned out to be from the team that beat us. All of our top 5 got medals for being in the top 20. I got 5th, Mike R got 10th, Eric got 11th, Alec got 17th and Pablo got 18th. Unfortunately the team that beat us got 1st, 6th, and 7th. I was pretty happy with my time, although I honestly still think I can do better. I'll have one last chance to go for a really fast race two weeks from now at the Patriot League Meet at Silver Lake, where I'm gonna have to try and get Coner.
