Division 3 State Relays at Milton. Ran in a B Team 4X1600: Moran-Me-Jesse-Little Joe. We were seeded 6th at 19:05 (avg. of 4:46) and had hoped to score, but ended up coming in 8th with a time of 19:45.25(avg. 4:56.25). It was a windy day. All splits are estimates, but coach thinks that Moran ran between 4:46 and 4:48, I ran between 4:58 and 5:00, Jesse ran 5:00-5:02, and Joe ran 4:56 or so. It was weird running in the relay like this. I had no idea of my splits or pace the entire race. Ryan put me in a good position, right behind a Duxbury kid, but I fell off of him. In the final lap of the race two kids passed me; I surged to try and hold onto them going into the handoff, but only partially succeeded. I was really unsure of how I had ran, and was relieved to later find out that I had definitely ran 5:00 or better. Z said that basically, Ryan, Jesse, and I ran about as expected, and that Joe didn't do nearly as well as we had hoped. I ran the 4X800 later in the day.
