Patriot League Meet at Silver Lake. Ran a slow first mile. Not sure the time, but I came through behind Pablo. The first mile was really crowded- I should have tried to get out ahead of the crowd right away. After a mile I manned up and made a move away from Pablo- that was good. For a while I had Coner in sight and was trying to reel him in, but I couldn't. I came through the 2 mile in about 11:20. The Randolph number 2 guy came up behind me and I latched onto him and followed him for a half mile or so. I successfully out-kicked WH's number 8 man in the home stretch, finishing 1 place behind Jimmy Smith, who crashed during the race.
Really, it wasn't a bad race. Obviously I'm disappointed that I didn't catch Coner. I definitely am still learning Cross Country pacing, as today I had more energy than I should have had with a mile to go. Still, I'm really excited for the Halloween Mile (where hopefully I'll PR) and for Indoor and Outdoor Track, where hopefully I'll run some fast times. Then I'll train as hard as last year over the summer and challenge Wes for the number 5 spot next season of Cross.
