Run #8 on the marathon course. Slept in a bit this morning, decided yesterday to forgo racing the 5k at Wayland today in favor of getting in a long run... after the two 4 mile days in the second half of the week, I felt that I needed a good LR to get me back on track. Really glad I did! It was a nice day for it, drizzly and windy and a little cold, but none of those made for bad conditions. Felt pretty good in the first 2 miles of the run and figured that since I hadn't done a w/o since Tuesday and was feeling fresh, I should go for a long workout - went for my "staple" of 3x4mi @ MP / 3' float. I think I have done this twice before, on 9/20/15 and 1/10/16, felt light-years better today than either of those times. I was thinking I would aim for 6:30s for the first set and work down if I felt good, but a faster pace was coming much more naturally. This wasn't easy, but didn't feel like a big workout effort either... very happy with this. I'm in a good spot! 12 miles @ 6:11 pace over the course in this run.
