Notes
Race @ Dartmouth- quad meet with Dartmouth, UVermont, UMaine. Ran the mile- one of the first races of the day. ~2 and a half hour bus ride, so we left at 7:30 AM- it was tough to stay awake, but I managed.
Seeded at 4:46, one second behind Paul. Only a few kids not on RPI in the race, and I figured they would be good. Started in the barrel. Clean start, ended up toward the back, just behind Paul. Got right on his shoulder and followed him through the first 600- pretty quick (we were out in like 33-67. Passed Paul after 3 laps and then was on my own. Joe F a little ahead of me with two kids, one fell off and I went right by him. Never caught them, they ran 4:40 so I really should have tried to get up with them. Felt like I did a good job of driving the whole time, finishing strong. Pretty sure I came through the 1200 in 3:32, meaning the final quarter was 74- not great. Still, a solid race, close to my PR, an indoor PR, and by far my fastest opener ever. A good start to the season and I think I will have lots of improvement over the rest of the season.
