My consistency is my greatest quality in running IMO. I rarely have a mileage objective per se, but I do have the objective to run a lot, and consistently, so bigger numbers follow.
I do not have an approach that yields the fastest improvements, but I like it, and I find it's a "safe" way of at least keeping my speed and racing fitness over time.
