Good luck to all the racers!!
OM - it's all in ones perspective. You can either look at it as getting your professionally-done-hair messed up, or look at it as testing out the new haircut to see if it makes you run faster - or at least look like you are running faster. "does his haircut make me look faster?"
4 miles while watching Brokeback Mountain, Holly? like, you watched the entire movie? those were a sloooooow 4 miles!
wasn't me who posted the update of all the upcoming racing, OM. But I like that also - a nice quick glance to see who is racing what.
I wouldn't normally run the day after intervals, but with our crazy spring weather, I just gotta seize the moment when I'm able, so I brought my stuff with me to work and might do a very ez RAL today. Legs feel fine today. Woke up to some snow on the ground but sun is out and it's probably all melted by now.

See if I can capture a rare moment with her face clean, clothes clean, and hair untangled so no one calls child protective services on me for raising her like a wild animal.
Aren't all little kids wild animals?
Happy Friday, Folks ~
GO RACERS!!!

No, I just watched 41 minutes of it. I didn't want to watch it in the house, because the subject matter is too strong for my kids to walk in on. To be honest, it was moving kind of slow for me, but the cinematography is beautiful.
Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
I've never seen that movie either, although I can imagine the cinematography is great. just don't have the desire to see it.
I usually watch bits and parts of Dances with Wolves whenever I see it come on, partly because of the great cinematography. and now that we finally have HDTV, I am anxious to see it on again so I can see it in HD.

Lets not forget Tramps better half! Good luck and good weather to all of you.
Speaking of weather, you're right Slo. The 17.8 inches we got the last two days might be gone by the Cellcom on May 15. Sounds like your training is going well. Looking forward to the Slo/Tim spectacular!
Wow, Mary. You speed demon, you! Puppy news? Puppy news?!
((( Tom W ))) Sorry that your runs aren't going real easy lately.
Love the posts from the Avenger Dog. Wish I had one.
Love the new avatar, OM. Hair always looks better a little messy anyway, don't you think?
Friday is my morning to volunteer at the homeless shelter so nothing to report here. I AM cross training bending over and lifting lots of boxes though. DH called last night and said they had a sunny, warm day to play gof and they were heading to the casino to do a little gambling. I told him to bet that there would be lots of packing left for him when he got home.
I AM cross training bending over and lifting lots of boxes though.
Lift with the knees, not the back!!
And raspberries to your DH and his great weather.
Mr. Chip & Mizz Rizzo
Thanks Jeanne, Holly, Leslie and all others that commented. I'm still tickled about my run.
As for puppy news ...... tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, it's only a day away .......
Good luck Racers,...especially MrsTramps!!!

Tramps and DW... gooooooooooooo
relaxed and swift...........
Good luck of the halfs Beers and CR!
I ran a fun but difficult route (lots of steep little hills) which includes the Duke XC trail and it felt really good... LOTS of power and stamina. That marathon Sunday definitely made me stronger! 9.87 miles in 1:24:40 (8:35, AHR 154). At mile 8.5 there was one of those radar "Your Speed" signs. I had to charge it... 3 times. Got it up to 11 mph.

Perch, I think you need to find another Marathon to run.

Hello again! Well, we ran slow enough that I didn't sweat... it was as if I was having a pina colada at Trader Vic's....
4.44 miles at a nice recovery pace of 10:21. Still not sure if I should run tomorrow or take the day off, since I've got my triple on Sunday; 13 miles split up into three runs of 5, 5 and 3. Opinions?
Thanks Jlynne for the reminder: good luck to Tramps' DW tomorrow as well!
who says life doesn't have a soundtrack?
Hopeful, nice to see that 8:something eh? I haven't seen one of those in ages. Unless I hit the lap button after a short sprint.
My calves were tight this morning, I guess cause I ran three days in a row. I think a lot of it has to do with two new shoes in my rotation that have lower heels, but I like running in them.
I went for a hike instead, over an hour and saw lots of other runners out there, one lady had poles. It is a gorgeous spring day.
"During a marathon, I run about two-thirds of the time. That's plenty." - Margaret Davis, 85 Ed Whitlock regarding his 2:54:48 marathon at age 73, "That was a good day. It was never a struggle."
Trails are hard!
We had a gorgeous spring day in Boston, too. it just happened to include snow on the ground and 27°. But none actually on the road and no wind, so a nice morining to run. 4.3 miles at just over 9m/m pace. Since I did include some actual elevation changes in this run, I'm relatively happy with it. Still not sure how the half will turn out next Sunday, though.
Have great races over the weekend, especially Tramp's DW on her first (of many?).
Need a fast half for late fall. Then I need to actually train for it.
Renee the dog
I'm not a racer this weekend. I got shut out of registration! Didn't want to bother Ilene again to take my name off.
But for all the other actual racers this weekend: GOOOOOO RACERS!!!!
