    Mornin' everyone!

Great pics, Steve! Someone should build an igloo at the end of that tunnel. Looks like Noah (and Grampy) had a blast!

Nice run, and great breakfast yesterday, CNY! It's good that the kiddo was watching out for you.

I'm glad your recovery run was good, Ribs.

Your kid is doing some great running, C-R - and so are you!

Deeze, you are running incredibly well! Keep doing what you've been doing, and you'll be so ready on race day.

Congrats on the PW, Tramps - they don't come along every day, you know.

Great "outie-and-innie" running Holly. Regarding your new smat phone; I'm far from an expert, but there should be a way to transfer contacts from one phone to another. I'll bet if you go back to where you bought the phones, they can help.

    Very nice 16er, NHLA!

So sorry about the infection and end to the streak, Mariposai. I hope you're feeling better today. Those flowers from Enke should help a bit!

Tall's in the house! Good for you for getting out there.

You sure earned an easy run after Saturday's ups and downs, Wildchild! That elevation chart alone scares me.

Wow - Divechief is here too! Sorry you've had such a tough week. Hopefully, things will calm down and you can get back to running.

Good for you for getting out there in the sloppy snow, Enke. Nice shot of the flowers looking out at the snow.

Nice "rut," Evanflein! 4 45-mi. weeks is a nice bit of mileage.

SRD today, which was a good thing because I was achy from yesterday's workout and chores; I shoveled the rest of the driveway that I didn't get to when it snowed a few days ago, stacked some more firewood inside, mopped the kitchen and hall floors, did the grocery shopping, yadda yadda. I didn't get my newspaper reading time in yesterday, but I did sit with the paper and a cuppa coffee for about 20 minutes this morning, which was delightful. We got another 2-3" of snow last night, so I'll be doing some more shoveling when I go home for lunch today. That'll be my workout for today.

    Have a greta Monday!

    The Shirtless Wonder

Morning Jay and those to follow.

Just checking in...been a while.  Though I have "lurked" a bit.

SRD for me today as well or rather crosstraining with free weights [at lunch]- if work allows.

      Happy Monday.

      Nulla camisia et nulla problematum

Spareribs, nice weekend worth of running.  You are in great condition.

        Deez, excellent running.

MikeE, the weather is looking good for you for your Marathon in Naples on Sunday.  It should be comfortable running weather.

After taking a bit of a cutback week last week - my body made that need very clear - I was back out there today for 8 sproinky miles in very nice running weather.  6 of those miles at 8:50 pace.  67° and low humidity.

Got a bit of bad news this weekend that one of my cousins has been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney disease.  It is terminal unfortunately.  She is a sweetheart and everyone feels quite badly though knowing her she will be as upbeat and sweet as ever.  It is genetic so the rest of us relatives will need to keep this in mind.  None of the other of us have any symptoms whatsoever though so we're likely not affected directly.

          Good morning everyone,

          Winter continues!

Well DW and I made up for Saturday's wimpy treadmill run with very snowy and cold run yesterday, it snowed at least inches while we were running 9.5 miles. Eye lashes and eye brows frozen but it was so fun!

DW and I in the middle

Nice tunnels Steve, I have some very fond memories of snow tunnels!

          Enjoy!

Courage ! Do one brave thing today...then run like hell.

          Trails are hard!

Jay--you "rest" almost as hard as Holly.

Bill--sad to hear about your cousin.  Not familiar with that, but transplant not an option?

As for me, still fighting lack of ambition aided by the pain in my butt.  Made it out for 6.3 yesterday in a toasty 25F and not a major pain this morning.  But boy, can I feel the fitness slipping away.

            Happy Monday to everyone else.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

              I was wondering this too.

              Sarge - nice photo!

Just a fly by from work to say, no run this morning, 35-40 minutes of weights and core instead.

DS has to have his wisdom teeth out, so I'm taking him in this afternoon for x-rays.  We're planning on scheduling it for spring break, so he can lay around as long as he needs to.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

I mentioned that too when I was told the news.  We will know more after Wednesday when she goes to a Specialist.  If a transplant is an option, and assuming I am a match, I would consider the possibility.  First things first though.

I'm so sorry Bill. And thanks for the compliment.  Today was another recovery day however but felt a bit stronger.   3.4 with my RP on a cold, drizzly day here.

                    Good Morning all!

lost power/internet over the wknd due to a wind storm. Power came back after an hour or so, but internet never came back.

David and I had a good race Saturday morning. Heavy rain, but thankfully no wind at the time of the race. I can handle the rain, but I don't like running in wind!  We came into 14th of 63 teams doing the 5K/5K relay. And that would be entirely thanks to my son who said he passed several runner on his anchor leg but only one person passed him. The course was admittedly long by the RD and was 3.3 miles. My time was 28:47 and David’s was 21:57.   We have another 5K race this Saturday, which I know will be accurately measured (this RD is a stickler for accuracy!), so am hoping to better my 8:44 average pace that I did this past Saturday.

I like all of these rest days. I need to try that but I'm too OCD. That being said 5 at lunch and running with kiddo tonight for my double. Legs were tired from yesterday's track work.

Sorry to hear Bill. Keeping you all in our prayers.

                      Back at it. Cheers.

3rd day in a row without running.  Combination of a trip to St Charles, IL to visit my daughter over the weekend, and a nagging sinus headache.

Sorry about your cousin Bill.  That is amazingly generous to just assume you'd give her a kidney if you're compatible.  It's one of those things that I don't know how I would do if called upon.

(I read a story somewhere in the last 1-3 weeks of a wife who wants her kidney back from her ex-husband.  I didn't follow-up to see if it was true or where that went.)

You give me too much credit Dave.  I just said i would consider it.  (I think any reasonable person would.)  That doesn't necessarily mean I'd agree to it.  There would be much to consider and talk about.

Bill - Sorry to hear about your cousin.  Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations, Tammy, on a good race, and good luck next weekend.

Posie is sick?? I need to look back at the weekend's posts.

I did 15.6 miles in the Community Forest on Saturday and it just about killed me.  Suffice to say the Forest chewed me up, spit me out, and laughed at me the whole time.  Not a lot of elevation gain (about 2800 feet), but there's nothing flat about the Forest (profile below).  I, of course, got crap from Karen for running all my mileage there ("You only need to run 5-7 miles of hills a week.'), but the way I see it is if I want to run Dick Collins Firetrails 50 in October, preparation is going to take more than running a few miles a week on hills.  Cripes, a basic 50k in the Marin Headlands usually has around 6000 feet of elevation gain.  Dick Collins has 7800 gain AND 7800 loss.

I was, however, happy with how my legs felt the next day running 7.4 on the basically flat McKay.  Since it was suppose to be an EZ, recovery run, I walked the 2 small hills.  Will do some strength/core training after work tonight.  Didn't feel like getting up this morning (which is par for the course these days).

So here is your "legal" lesson for the day: If you own stock in a company and you elect to have actually stock certificates issued to you, don't lose the certificates!!  We have a client who is the beneficiary of a number of investment accounts.  With four of the accounts, the decedent had certificates issued and so far the certificates can't be found.  If she continues to be unable to find them, she is going to have to pay over $3,000 in processing and bond premium fees.  Ack!  I have yet to tell her the good news.
