After five straight marathons in June, kinda slacked off in July with only three hot and humid ones including one with mikemp around the Imperial Palace eight-plus times on 7/11.
Streak of 11 marathons in a row since March 28 without any running in-between came to an end with consecutive Sat-night/Sun-morning 8 and 10K’s when I came back to Seattle.
7/5 - Hiratsuka Fullnic Marathon (Japan) - 6:57:30 (waraji straw sandals) 7/11- Imperial Palace Marathon #97 (Tokyo) - 5:57:02 (reinforced soles waraji) 7/18 - Imperial Palace Marathon #98 (Tokyo) - 5:59:26 - (cut down rubber thongs) 7/24 - Torchlight 8K (Seattle) - 49:42 (barefoot) 7/25 - Swedish SummeRun 10K (Seattle) - 1:04:12 (cut down thongs)

Thanks Nono and Wildchild to teaming up this month.
Nono, parts of the Jersey shore certainly are spectacular at any time of the year, but especially in summer!
61.5 miles this month. Starting PT this week for a muscle in my lower back/butt that likes to cramp in the middle of moderate/hard workouts and bring me to a screeching halt. It's a good thing there's kayaking...

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.
I was so excited to post my miles for July back when I was cruising toward a monthly PR. Then I cruised right off my bike and didn't run from the 12th until the 31st, so I figured I wouldn't post. THEN nono started us off with such a greta pic - not my beach, but close enough, I couldn't resist, so here goes:
30.8 running for July
350.7 running YTD
Also in July, lots of kayaking, a little biking, some biking-gymnastics and a trip to the ER.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Interesting that the July average and median were the lowest so far this year. Could be the H&H or vacations that are affecting our mileage? Or just a function of who's posting? Here are the monthly averages and medians this year:
Here's the whole July honor roll:
I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.
