Notes
A 5:30 wake up call for a 6:30 run on a Saturday morning when is its 21 degrees before we head down to Boston for the day. What the hell is wrong with me? I guess I am officially back in training mode and disturbingly excited about it. I dressed in shorts, dri fit shirt/pull over, running coat, baseball hat, gloves, and a dri fit ski mask kind of thing covering my head neck and face and was completely fine. It took a few minutes for my fingers to warm up but that was it. I ran toward the first part of Hanson Ridge again up the hill near McDougals. The first few miles were easy at 9:17 and 9:10 before slowing down because of the hill and running the 3rd mile at 9:54. Once I hit the top of the hill I was just farting along trying to get the miles in. I didn’t let the decline of Oak Street pick up the pace to much and ran the 4th mile at 9:10 as I was just trying to keep it easy for the 10 miles. It’s interesting that from the stop sign at Hansons Ridge to the bottom of Oak Street is a mile. Hit 109 and continued west until the 5 mile mark and ran another easy 9:07 before heading back to retracing my steps. On the way back I felt the pace quicken even as I went up the Oak Street Hill for my fastest mile of the run at 8:48. I was definitely cruising through most of it but the last steep part of the hill was absolutely work and I found myself out of breath. The downhill home helped pick up the pace and the last 3 miles were at 8:08, 7:55, and 7:46 which all felt really good. I continue to feel stronger by the day and happy with this run and the week as a whole. The body feels very good in general and the knee has been a complete non factor. The foot is still a little numb but not causing any other issues so far. Off to the Celtics game with the family.
