against briars who are at or near the bottom of the table. so of course they went one nil up early. we were on top though. Maybe rod ran it too much, maybe not..but we scored soon after, I hit a great short corner shot which hit the posties stick then leg, yelled for a stroke, then maurie on the post put it in..next goal I think I had the first shot, rebounded off keeper, I collected and ran it back in, beat a couple, shot with a flick which went through/past the keeper about chest height, might have gone in by itself but in the end Glen tapped it in so good enough. It was my assist! Then our third goal after a bit of pressure on the left where we wasted the hits, peter krepp hit one across the top to me and I marched it in and crunched the shot past the goale, 100mph bang no mistake :-) Then with 20 seconds to go I tackled a guy on the sideline near the backline and she blew me for deliberate inside the 25 ridiculous call but they scored so end result 3-2.. Good result we won, ross angus left with about 15 to go to save his hammy, glen played well, Rod had a great game and so did mark bayley and dave lucas in the backs...Ross johnson did some great runs, and i gave him a pearler of a pass into the circle that he just couldnt control but in a good spot. and maurie played really well at left wing. Keith also did good things on the right side wing in the first half put a great ball through for me I remember for instance. all good fun, had a beer and a half afterwards with dave, peter krepp, rod etc for a few minutes,then home to watch survivor with megan and the kids. So thats five goals for vets this year, btw played right iner all game.
