I am actually really happy and surprised about this! This time beat my best 3k time on this track from college by 2 seconds! Considering I only have two speed workouts under my belt and I worked through this, I am thrilled to see what type of shape I'm in--especially for a race on KU's track, or lack thereof. Pleased with my fitness. I can't wait to see what I can do on a better track.

For the race itself, I tried to go out conservatively. I think I hit the first 1k somewhere in the 3:05-3:07 range. I closed the last 1k in 3:03 (no clue what my middle one was because I forgot to split my watch). I started moving up and just picking people off in the last 800 meters. It honestly felt like a hard workout, but I also felt like I didn't hold myself back. Just as I planned it!
