Went out nice and easy - which was a 6:55 first mile. I settled into something a little faster. The field had spread out with Mark B., and Joel B. in a group about a minute ahead. I kept pace with them. Focussed on breathing and felt very light footed. Made the pace easier work with my footstrike and core attitude into the 3rd mile. I picked off a couple ahead of me, Charles V. and finished behind Joel. It felt great to run fast. I know this was not a race pace run, this was a tempo or something. I need to do mile repeats or something shorter at what I imagine is my 5K pace, to work out that mystery before competition ensues. No pain at all, incidentally.
