Notes

I decided to start easy and work up to my best steady pace. Joni passed me at about 3/4 of a mile and I had to pick it up. Mile 1 was 7:25. The fantasy is breaking 7:00 pace for the whole thing. I bargained with myself that If my 2nd mile was less than 7:00, by chance, I might push towards 6:30s to get it. Mile 2 was 7:07. Pretty damn close. I was passing people steadily for the whole race, and had a big gap before the next group. My focus was good, my stride was good, my breathing posture was where I was making my best improvements. I just kept working on the group in front of me, passed them with about half a mile to go, and gently worked into a max steady effort stride. I had just a huge gap to close on the next runners, and managed it with a full out sprint in the last 100 feet to pass a very nice lady. I ran faster than last week and felt better by far. My legs were very tight and crampy during the cool down mile though.
