This was a great workout! Especially on the heels of Tuesday's effort. I was wondering how today would go since the last few hard workouts have been in that same 5-minute pace range, but I've handled those pretty damn well. It kind of felt like one of those days where a tough workout feels like the easiest thing I could've done. I hit my first 800 in about 2:25 but felt like I was way slower. I decided I'd rather run at what felt like 5 minute pace then worry about actually hitting times. So going through in 2:25 felt easy and relaxed, but mentally I had to pull back a little.

I was thinking I was always fast on the first 800 but in recalling my splits (2:25/2:30, 2:26/2:29, 2:27/2:27, 2:25/2:24) it looks like that wasn't so much the case. Regardless, this was a great workout and I felt like my old self once again. Looking forward to the next few days and to see how I feel next week during workouts. Not that I'm not going to crush it in the next race, but it's workouts like these that make it feel somewhat irrelevant if I race well or not. Running to feel that flow is what it's all about.
