Happy Interdependence Day. Mine was a great day with lots of activity. Easy 6.5, but ran rather quick in the middle then had to slow down. Legs a little sore from yesterday, but otherwise feeling really good. Then went kayaking in Lake Champlain to watch the roots concert.
Picked up a friend from the airport then went night swimming at shelburne pond. The bull frogs were going crazy. Adults will eat snakes, insects, worms, and other frogs. The coolest fact I learned about them is that they will eat bats! Most likely they snag bats as they swoop down to drink water. They're also cannibalistic and the males will fiercely defend their territory (~3-25m of shoreline).
