Harris Y Trail

Put on "big boy" pants today & ran 4 mi straight (mostly on trail plus some on sidewalk and some on grass). Started out at slow pace and felt fine. Did not have any of the prior issues of getting winded after about 6 min or going to fast (for whatever reason, I just hit the "sweet spot" and kept going. Ran 4 mi, walked some to test foot, and then ran 1 mile. Really psyched as I was able to do this (w/out pain and could settle into a nice pace). Plus I have something to gauge fitness against next week (perceived effort felt fine despite the HR readings, first two miles felt pedestrian).

Woke up this morning w/no pain in Achilles (and none after run).

This week I'm going four days and targeting to hit about 22 miles and doing two back-to-back days w/a days rest in between. If things are ok, this then naturally segues into five days next week and a 30 mile week. Focus now will also be to get my weight down (at 198, was 190 -- alot of this is muscle wt I've put on as I'm much stronger but that should begin to "ebb away" as I log more miles).
