Got a much later start due to a work blowup had to fix (but also to avoid ridiculous heat -- 88 deg at 8pm but still miserable when I started this). Lifted, fast walked 1/4 mi & did drills before. Right foot hurt on first step this morning (bad sign) and bothered throughout day. Ran a relatively boring and winding route avoiding dark streets w/drunk drivers. Felt "rested" compared to Mon and form/stride feels more powerful -- my "paw back" is much stronger & all of the tightness & soreness is focused on upper hamstring/glute that is powering this (it is like all of a sudden my "paw back" kicked in and this dropped my pace 30-40 sec p mi as efficiency/strength significantly improved). I looked at split after mile 3 and "backed off" in mile 4 given how hot it was. Was able to run on Sharon Rd & on Fairview given almost no traffic. At 4 mi had to stop as I began to feel sick to my stomach (onset of heat exhaustion), continued on but slowed it down to a "jog". Planned to stop at ATM and did at 5.5 miles in (again, began to feel sick to my stomach). At end completely soaked. Lack of any breeze made it very uncomfortable and taxing. Feet did not hurt at all during run (but did after). Over the last 1.5 mi I could really feel the stress in my upper hamstring/lower glute (will need to get thru this in one piece).
