Easy Run
Brutal conditions/dew pt. Fast walked & did drills prior. Got needled Tue & today right hamstring felt much better (relieved the tension). Had no idea how I would fare as in about the same conditions on Mon I overheated quickly, had to stop a 3.3 mi, then 3 other times. When I started out I felt better/stronger & did not feel like I began to slow down w/in 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile. Ran left on Sharon fr Whole Foods meandering into the church (mile 1), then right onto Sulkirk & left down Park Central (mile 2 - felt much better than any prior days as I could feel I was tolerating the heat better). Made right on Park to Church, looped back to Park Central & then back on Park to Church & hung the right to climb Old Reid (mile 3). Climbed Old Reid & left on Park Central & left on Fairview (mile 4), to Park & then looped back past Panera (this was 4.8 mi & at this point I began to lose rhythm & felt hot but not where I felt it in my "inner core" as many of the prior days where I had to simply stop) & took a break at 45 min in (5.1 mi). Did drills to get rhythm back & ran the final segment trying to focus on maintaining cadence (felt much stronger in prior days).
