Easy Run

Took day off. When I was doing drills my legs felt super energized unlike what I have felt in a long time. Cold/drizzle to start, wore leggings, felt great to start & then disaster hit me close to mi 2 (tripped, never say it, fell down violently on concrete parking lot adjacent to theater, the headlamp I was carrying in my hand was destroyed, left elbow landed & has a 3" by 3" gash - huge tear in shirt, elbow swelled 4x its size & left sleeve bloody w/in 30 min - contusion in left shoulder - large scrapes in left knee - painful contusion in back of left shoulder - felt like someone hit w/a shovel.

Ran the first two miles in Phillips Pl parking lot - felt great like I have not felt in many many months to start, strong, efficient, felt easy & maintaining that new posture (core tucked hips out) felt comfortable - when I violently fell just before mi 2 I could then feel the effects of this "seep in" over the next 3 miles. Ran up Fairview left on Ashley left down Sharon ~100m looped back crossed Fairview past mall entrance (mi 3 - right toe felt stiff as I may have turf toe which will be a disaster, began to feel the pain in back of left shoulder), crossed Morrison, looped around Walgreens up Sharon left into Earth Fare to Inspire right & right up Sharon left on Colony into Harris Teeter (mi 4 - slowed down here because I began to be extremely conservative about not falling, felt weaker), ran loop around parking lot (mi 4 - 4.35). Bought salmon & then needed to bandage my elbow as it was oozing blood & grossly swollen, and then the pain in my back left shoulder felt like someone placed a knife in it. Resumed & fortunately the pain in my shoulder was consistently & did not stop me - ran back to Phillips Pl.
