Rested left foot 3 days. On Mon ball of left foot really hurt & along lateral side (painful to walk). Iced & iced and began to feel better. Needled on Tue and needled left calf which helped. Fast walked ~1/2 mi prior (no pain) and did drills. Ran this very (very) easy and w/much trepidation as I did not want my left foot to go "lame" like that (right foot also hurting some fr PF). Boring route w/in 3/4 of a mi of Whole Foods since if my foot when lame I wanted to be close to walk back! When I started I could feel discomfort just below the ball of the left foot.which was disconcerting -- over first mile felt slow & was seemingly adjusting my foot fall to experiment w/what generated less discomfort (mid-foot land vs. heel). Somewhere about 1.5 mi the discomfort went away and my stride felt significantly easier and much more fluid (the drop in pace mirrors how I felt) but kept it very easy. I was originally only going 4 mi but expanded that to 5 at 3 mi. However, at about 3.5 mi my left foot began to hurt more to where it almost felt "lame" and I conveniently stopped at an ATM right at mile 4. When I resumed my left foot felt much better which was a good sign and it never hurt again like it did towards the end of mile 4.
