Notes

Couldn't help myself, went back to Roxbury today. Decided that this week, I'd increase intensity rather than increase distance again. Still a short course (3.7mi this week) so did have to add on again. Took the W, but this week no one was a dedicated timer so I had to take stopwatch duties for a few minutes (it was almost 2 min before 2nd came in and was still strung out after that). Eventually someone took over but I still had a longer rest than intended before adding on, but oh well, happens.

Let the pace dawdle for the first ~0.3mi before going for it. Went 6:06 (oops... uphill mostly though), 5:53 (neutral first half but tough hill for second half), then apparently 5:12 pace for the next 1.7mi. Mile marker 3 told me 5:28 but that would make the last 0.7mi @ about 5 flat which is very doubtful, so I bet that marker was a little too far back. Nicer course than last week for sure, past 2mi you could really get rolling. Did the second part in the 0.42mi park loop, five times around. More would have been better but good enough for this week, wanted to catch those guys for the cooldown.

Made friends this week! The LEGENDARY Jeff Sheldon told me all about the horrors of the Roxbury marathon. He also said I have a smooth stride and should consider a half-marathon, and said we should meet for a long run soon. #besties
