Very quiet during the first part of the run. I felt a bit congested and a bit stiff at first, but it wasn't bad, and I enjoyed it. As time went on, there was increasing traffic, both on the streets and on the trail. In all, I shared the trail with three runners, three walkers, two bicyclists, and a skunk. The skunk came out of the Van Dorn storm drain and walked onto the path right in front of me. We both stopped at the same moment; it hissed once and I backed up slowly. It then walked back into the drainage ditch and I tiptoed past on the grass on the other side. Somewhat later I came to a couple that I see and greet most mornings, but this morning they stopped me to ask about my barefoot running, so I took the time to explain it as well as I could. They seemed accepting of my explanation. My ankle felt reasonably good; maybe a bit stiffer than yesterday.
