Notes

I ran over to the local high school track to confirm that I could get in (Yes). That was shorter than anticipated. Then I ran up Grandad Bluff. That was longer than anticipated.

I wasn't planning much today, probably just the usual 6 when I'm either recovering or prepping for a workout. But after accomplishing my track reconnaissance and stopping back at Naomi's mom's before 4miles, I decided I needed a something to spark my running. So I looked up to the highest bluff and thought, "I will go there."

A lucky train forced me north onto the correct road. There was no sidewalk but a generous shoulder (and a beautiful trail near the road that sadly was closed). Unfortunately that generous shoulder got cut in half as a railing split it. I continued on and by the time I realized that this slightly-dangerous road would take a while (1.5miles on the main road, another mile in the park), I felt committed. Better to continue on now that try again another day.

Physically I felt good and enjoyed myself, the top was filled with people, and the view was nice. The down trip was quick and felt a bit nicer as cars coming by were going uphill instead of downhill. A solid run and I'd say I accomplished my ad hoc goal of stressing myself differently today.

P.S. I thought this would be my biggest hill in over a year when visiting Fort Collins, then I recalled that I did run once in SD and it barely edged today's elevation.
