Leg 4: An infamous talc mine climb. I saw these 2 legs last year and they looked awesome running around the outskirts of a huge quarry. Of course, I barely looked above the ground while running. About 1000ft climb over 3 miles, which isn't much compared to some of the climbs I did last week, but I was averaging 8min miles here compared to 10+ before. So a tiring leg but it actually finished fairly quickly. 2.9 miles: 23 min.

Leg 13: I wasn't intended to have this leg, but Sam and Heidi did some maneuvering of the legs when they realized that they had more mileage on the day than me. This is the day 2 unsupported, which I was very interested in after doing the day 1 unsupported last year. This one isn't as long or as steep, and as I found out, not nearly as fun. I was hoping for singletrack, it was always 2-wheel; I wasn't shaded, it was almost always in the sun. And compared to just going over a peak, this one was rolling hills, so you never really know what you have left (the last mile was rough). 4.8 miles: 38 min.

Leg 15: This wasn't my leg, I was joining Frenzy's, but I was feeling good after my leg and wanted miles (though I should have been focusing on rehydrating and eating). Our initial pace of around 7min felt good, but then Sam began to warm up and we hit steeper downhills. I had forgotten about how much downhill there was and our pace quickly dropped below 6min while my back protested. The last mile was flat and alright. 3.4 miles: 22 min.
