Soup kitchen day. Plan: 60 min easy with taper intervals of 4 x 2 min at race effort with 2 min recoveries. A little breezy again (weather says 11-14 but it feels like more)! Usually is in Okla. so good practice. Feeling good. Here's the breakdown: 37:38 for 6 miles. then the taper intervals: #1 13.6 mph est power 82W, #2 15.9 mph/83W, #3 13.7 mph/80W, #4 17.1 mph/67W (some downhill). As usual, recoveries were nice and slow. 8:13 CD for 1.65 miles. According to Whoop, recovery is excellent today with HRV back up to 39. Max HR was during the hard bits, of course. It gave the ride a 7.8 Strain Score. Got an email from the RD saying the start will be pushed back until about 10:00 a.m. Disappointed that I won't get to do the 1st run in cooler temps! I get it, though, it's the OKC Triathlon Club that's putting on the race so the tri is the main thing, not the du, and the triathletes will be cold getting out of the water.
