Temp 38 Winds Calm.

Orignal plan is 25 minute Tempo Effort. Five minutes to get to 160-165 HR (86% - 89%), then twenty minutes in that zone. Goal is to get in 20 minutes right at LT at slower pace on soft surface to save wear and tear on legs. Had to adjust mid-run to 165-170 HR (89% - 92%). Finished warm-up and striders, and stopped only to clear snot and reset Garmin alert to repeat at 5 minutes.

Ran first lap a little hard to get things moving. Was at 170 quick. Relaxed and at end of five minutes was at 168. Legs determined to outrun cardio today. Was back to 171 at ten minutes. Did not know it at the time, but had run first mile in 6:47, so HR was pretty much where it was going to be. Relaxed again and had returned to 168 at fifteen minutes. No way to hit original target, so decided to run it out at 165-170. Twenty minutes in @ 170. Got it back to 167 by the end, but slowed quite a bit. Was only running mid-7 pace by this time.

Over 24 minutes in 160-171 range. Poor execution of original plan, but for the most part got done what I came out here to do today.
