Long Run. Change of location today. Meet up w/ CBEM co-founder at Cape Central High. I'm wanting to get a look at the course of a new 10K scheduled for late March. Post-race day run, so looking for 10-12 miles with some tempo effort in the middle. Also looking to find out if the L HS issue yesterday was the real deal or just a scare.

Let my Garmin run, so no break up of the run. Easy for about five miles. He's wanting to do five mile cut-down tempo starting at 7:00 m/m pace. I'm confident now my HS is re-injured, and based on what happen before, I think I'm good with anything 6:30 or slower. Plan to go until I cannot keep up. Ran first mile around 7:00, second 6:50, and third 6:3X. About a quarter to half mile into forth split, I was done. Let him go, and dropped my pace back to 7:00 m/m. Heading back into HS parking lot notice I no longer feel my car key in my glove. Crap. Spare is locked inside. We'd tried to hit the porto-head on the trail, but some yaahoo had tipped it. Ended up ducking into the woods and I'd taken my gloves off. Must have fallen out.

Cool-down jogging back for search. No luck. Hello, AAA. Ended up tacking on some unplanned miles.

HS is hurt again. A total shut down, four months of re-hab, strenght training, and basically hitting the re-set button on my training goes out the door in less than 20 minutes. Nothing more I can do to heal it, will have to live with it. Expect it to be like last Oct/Nov with I attempted to run through the initial injury. Some days it'll work, some days it won't. Some days will be able to run faster, some days will hurt to run at all. Will manage it, ride the fitness as long as I can, then brace for the long layoff when that day finally comes.
