Temp 72 Wind 10 mph. Humidity 81% Dew Point 66 degrees.

Pre-Race Tune-Up. Storms moved through early a.m. Left-over sauna conditions offset by cool breeze. Minute by minute, last of cloud cover began to clear and took breeze with it. Muscle recovery on overdrive. Joints still remember they were jarred for an hour on the TM Thursday.

Fifteen minutes running to start. Moving at 8:30ish from the get-go. Take about 2-3 minutes to re-stretch IT bands, hams and groin. Next up is 8+ minutes of drills and striders. #1 strider right at 5:00, then next two progressively got slower and sloppier. Did a walk interval (like your ALWAYS SUPPOSE to do) immediately before #4 and dropped back down just under 5:00. Finish things off with jog home.

Race time forecast is clear and low 80s. 85% humidity with no wind. Exact replica of 2009 race. Goal remains a 5:00ish minute PR. Will basically take running a 40:00 minute 10K, then finishing off the last 0.8. I'm in condition to do this, no doubt, but heat / humidity will be the wildcard. Plan right now is to relax and approach this mentally as a training run for July 5Ks. Work out will be 45 Minutes at 10K Effort.
