Lol. Trail race @ World's End in Hingham, very pretty. Convinced to do it just for the prize of free Hokas. It was actually a little hilly, and a guy put a decent gap on me right away. I really wasn't in any sort of mentality to be running hard so I let him go a bit and came through the mile @ 6 flat, just about right. Slowly closed on him over over the next half mile, then picked it up going up a hill and put some distance on him. I started feeling a lot better and started to really pick it up and get closer to a real race pace by probably around 2 miles... then BOOM the race was over.
Looking at the map, I can see where we chopped off about a half mile... it was when I was NOT leading so don't feel bad at all. The RD said he would pay for our entry for the race next Saturday because of the mishap, so maybe I'll take him up on it. Pretty awkward race all in all... there was a nice spread after though. Sent away for my Hokas.
