Notes

Brought my running stuff to work and got in the car and drove to Cutler Park right after work. Probably got started running ~6:45... once again found myself lost and finding my way back through the woods in the dark. During the confusion in the middle of the run, I stopped my watch a few times while I was trying to get my bearings and at one point the run actually got broken up into two entries. According to the watch, I ran first ~45 at 8:07 pace and last 33 at 8:3x pace... I think I'm being pretty conservative by rounding to about 8' pace (although there was definitely a very slow mile in the dark trails towards the end). I successfully followed the trail all the way through Cutler Park, then was fooled into following a trial that went north towards Newton rather than where I wanted to go. It was a pretty cool trail which took me over a bridge over the Charles and into some Newton neighborhood. I knew I was lost, but thought I could maybe find my way to Millennium Park and continue the loop. Finally I stopped a guy in his car and asked if I was close, he said it was 5 mile away. I was almost positive that was wrong (non-runners have a pretty poor perception of mileage usually) but it was pouring and starting to get dark so I decided to just hedge and go back the way I came. Cut off the little island loop on the way back, so it was shorter. Have a good idea of what I need to do next time to follow the Blue Heron trail all the way to Millennium Park.
