Notes
First long run in the Newton Distance S and they felt good.
This was a good fast finish long run for me. The last 13.1 was in 1:55:28 as the Garmin gave me a new half marathon record.
Although the abs were still sore, not as bad. I concentrated on getting nice deep breaths into the belly on the inhale rather than holding in the stomach. I think this breathing made me more relaxed and kept my heart rate down. Because at the end, the Garmin gave me a new vo2 max of 49 and gave me these new race predictions:
1/2 marathon = 1:37:42
marathon = 3:23:16
I am ready to give it a good hard run at Tom King on March 8th.
Nice negative split:
1st half = 1:13:43
2nd half = 1:08:33
