2 miles (today)---coming off the DL slowly and carefully. Lots of walking miles, but I didn't tabulate those.
Why not count your walking miles? I always do! Wink Jay

    Running out of mistakes!

Thanks wildchild...nice picture! I got in 175 miles for January. I'd blame it on the frigid weather and snow, but I know it was really just me getting off to a slow start. One new thing I've started for 2009 is more core workouts to help my form. I'm working up to being able to do 200 at a time, but as I go I racked up an even 4,000 for the month.
-2009 running goals - sub-3 after Boston (probably VCM), 3 PRs, 2009 miles for the year, and no untreated injuries

173 miles for me - highest mileage month ever. But paid for it with shin splints at the end. Hopefully work my way back up to 40 mile weeks after a week off from running.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

今日はwild goddess and 有難う again. Two 5K circuits around the Imperial Palace on New Year`s Day guaranteed doubling last year`s January mileage from the Resolution 5K Fun Run but getting to stay in the highly runnable 東京 all month this year has added up to an 大きい PR January even compared to when I was going down to run the San Diego Marathon (now Carlsbad) with my SoCal barefoot buds every January in years past. I used to love the 5K Palace circuit when living here in the eighties but never dreamed of trying to run in anything except running sneakers in those days so made up for it this time by circuiting the 皇居 in wooden geta 下駄 sandals, straw 草鞋 waraji sandals and several kinds of cloth tabis 足袋 including a regular jika-tabis 地下足袋 I also ran sections of the Tokyo Marathon course (3/22 this year; 2/;28 next year) adding up to 18 miles as I took the rosie ruiz trains back from the two out-and-backs. January total - 70 miles (January PR), . . . or was that 70K? either way, still a PR month. In fact, after three laps already this month, I`m ahead of last year`s February too.
